Description
This route is an alternative to walking the road section at Merrivale. Unfortunately it also misses out on any refreshment stop opportunities. There is quite a bit of road walking between Whitchurch and Ward Bridge at Sampford Spiney. The route follows the Dartmoor Way High Moor Link between Wards Bridge and Princetown - mostly on vehicle tracks with an exception of a section of about 400 metres, which does require some navigation skills. The route Between Tavistock and Warren's Cross is the same as for tavpri(1) and tavpri(2)

Surveys
We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.
Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.

04 Sep 2024A very pleasant walk avoiding the busy B 3357. I walked it in clear visibity and had no difficulty following the route. Like all routes across the moor - even on the Dartmoor Way High Moor Route there is no signage, so an ability to navigate is required, particularly in poor visibility. the route avoids Merrivale so unfortunately there are no refreshment stops available.
