Survey Photos
We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.
Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. 05 Feb 2023I walked this from Lydford to Tavistock on a sunny day in early February. The way is easy to follow and doesn't involve too much challenge in that direction (the other is more climbing than descent) A few ladder stiles and serious muddy spots make this a truly country walk and difficult for my large dog despite lots of it being well marked and easy road or grass path. The views are stunning throughout and it's a great way to see this side of Dartmoor. If you do the walk from Tavistock you could stop several places along the way (Peter Tavy/Mary Tavy/Lydford Gorge) for refreshments.
I've included some photos below of the major impediments.
