Surveys
We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.
Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.
Help people know more about this route by volunteering to submit a survey.

02 Mar 2022Good route through Sutton Park from Streetly to Sutton Coldfield.
Can be muddy when wet just before Blackroot Pool, but enjoyable.

19 Jun 2021A lovely Slow Way. Starting from outside Sutton Coldfield Town Hall the route curves around and downhill towards the entrance to Sutton Park. The route is slightly less direct than the alternative but offers more in refreshments (it passes a Toby Carvery) and has a more peaceful offroad feel. It also passes Blackroot Pool (pictured). It is easy to follow, although we managed to miss the turning initially at SP 0892 9797 which turns left and then right to follow the path of the road track. The last section in Sutton Park crosses the golf course. Those teeing off seem sympathetic to this but it's worth bearing in mind. The last section passes through a residential street in Streetly prior to crossing the Chester Road to reach the Streetly meeting point by a Tesco Express. Direct, safe, offroad and beautiful. Despite the fact it had rained we had no problems with surfaces. Full marks!.

02 May 2021 (edited 27 Jun 2023)The route through Sutton Park uses an uneven dirt path which gets muddy when wet. There is also a short steep section near to Blackroot Pool which can be tricky. There is an alternative route which uses the main paved path.
