Description
This route is based on improvements suggested in the reviews and survey of StrEas one. It is broadly similar using roads parallel to the original route and still goes through West Ham Park while avoiding more of the busy shopping areas in Stratford. Other new bits: more of Whalebone Lane (no traffic) beside Stratford Park, the art deco former Trebor Sweets factory, Plashet Park and the Sri Mahalakshmi Temple in East Ham.
The route intersects various roads with shops, eating places and bus routes. There are public toilets in both West Ham Park and Plashet Park. Both parks are locked at night around dusk, monthly times on signs at the entrances although not online. See photos. It's very flat and paved throughout, without any steps or ramps. Although it's entirely possible there may be occasional rough pavements or undropped kerbs

11 Feb 2025I walked from East Ham to Stratford on a grey day.
Long monotonous suburban streets punctuated by two lovely parks. The interest is in the architecture, very contrasting styles at either end and a mix in the middle.
A functional route.

25 Jul 2024Pleasant walk through Newham, the highlights are Plashet and West Ham Parks which are both beautiful parks. Easy walk, no hills or really busy roads.

21 Jun 2024This is a nice enough walk which I did from east to west. It cuts through a couple of parks, Plashet Park (toilets) and West Ham Park (toilets and water) and along some quietish streets in between ending up at Stratford Bus Station with numerous refereshment and retail opportunities in Stratford or the Westfield shopping centre.

03 Dec 2023Not bad for a short urban route and about 1/3 is off road. Nicely angled to enjoyed prolonged wintry sunsets. West Ham Park was lovely and there were several other treats. It's only a little shorter than StrEas 1, lengths are just above/below 4.5km.
