Description
Read all the reviews describing the overgrown paths and difficulties with the original route.
Also studied local exercise heat maps to identify alternative options.
There are very few options at present due to the railway infrastructure and no b roads in this area.
(Aberdeenshire council are currently looking at options for routing and funding a new path)
Unfortunately the only choice at the moment is to head up to the path alongside the southbound side of the A92.
**This is only required between the Stonehaven slip road and Muchalls.**
There are fields running parallel to this path, as an alternate option for anyone who prefers walking in fields instead of alongside the busy road.
This roadside path is well trodden and used by locals to link several bus stops along the way to Muchalls.
Walked this route today before submitting - much improved.
**As per the original route there are sections along clifftop paths and care is required.**

Surveys
We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.
Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.

1h30
Muchalls
Turn off A92 footpath in to grassy path at telegraph poles
1h45
Leaving Muchalls on the farm tracks
2h
