07 Jul 2021A route of 2 halves! As is often the case down here, inland routes can be quite difficult to follow as, understandably, most people focus on the beautiful coast path.
The first part of this route was difficult to navigate over fields and then there was quite a long stretch along the road to Sancreed.
From Sancreed, the route was lovely and very easy to follow. Much of the way was through farmers fields but it also included parkland (associated with a stately home I guess), and there were some lovely trees areas around the drift reservoir.
We were very surprised to find that the walk through the outskirts of penzance was very pleasant. A lot of it was on a quiet back lane with other parts through footpaths between elegant victorian villas.
I would walk this route again from Sancreed but not from St just. If you are going to do the whole route, just stick to the road until you reach Sancread. It's a bit boring but pretty quiet.
