Surveys
We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.
Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.
Help people know more about this route by volunteering to submit a survey.

20 Oct 2023This is a good route which takes you off the beaten track in this part of Cambridgeshire which is dominated by the crossing points of the River Great Ouse. It is mainly in agricultural landscapes, but does visit some enchanted sections of wooded paths and passes near a number of nature reserves, including RSPB Ouse Fen. When walking from Willingham to St. Ives there are couple of handily located pubs (Pike & Eel and Old Ferry Boat) for refreshments. The section of path between the River Great Ouse and Meadow Lane has been know to get overgrown at times. The last kilometre or so into St. Ives is quite industrial with only intermittent pavements and possibly lots of traffic depending on the day of the week / time etc.
