This route has some fundamental problems.
Firstly, the section from Standlake to Newbridge could be better: both from Standlake to Oxford and Standlake to Kingston Bagpuize spend more time off-road, and I'd recommend the path those routes take.
Secondly, the route crosses the Thames at Northmoor lock, which is possible, but the path on the south side of the Thames into Appleton village isn't strictly a right of way.
Thirdly, there's a section of 2.5 miles of pretty much dead straight walking on the B4017. There's pavement the whole way, so it's safe, but it's not particularly pretty.
When I have a chance, I'll explore uploading a different route. If you beat me to it, I'd recommend using the Staoxf Two route from Standlake to Appleton, then going south through Besselsleigh Wood to the A420. The paths and byways south of that are less clear to me, and the options into Abingdon from the west aren't great, but it ought to be possible to have less time on roads.
