08 May 2023Not passable through the reed bed 5122 7940 on Explorer map Pottersbridge warning is on the main road end but not at the coastal end. If coming from Benacre Wildlife reserve follow the metel finger post Footpath signs down to the reed beds then use the marsh as a Handle Bar to your left, head west ( keep it to your left) try to cross over through some light reeds ( ankle deep) Or at 5109 7979 where the metal finger posts direct you left keep straight and you will pick up the bridleway to take you onto the Main road. Be aware though this short track is not listed as a public right of way.

10 Jun 2021It’s a lovely walk but two problems - the section along the busy Lowestoft Road is narrow and dangerous and not suitable for walking and the section of footpath that follows that (into Benacre) is closed.

23 Jul 2023Hello Rich. If you are a local can I ask what you think of this as alternative route for Southwold to Lowestoft? It uses part of the Suffolk Coast Path to avoid the marsh path near Pottersbridge, and the road-walking on Lowestoft Rd.
