Surveys
We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.
Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.
Help people know more about this route by volunteering to submit a survey.

06 Aug 2022Fairly straight forward from Solihull to Marie Curie Hospice, but there the supposed footpath does not exist. I walked through the hospice and hopped over the wall (Which was a 2-3 m drop) but if you're less mobile then it might be best to walk around. The path through the woods after is fun, if a little overgrown and hard to follow exactly in some places. There is some derelict building in the middle of the woods which is rather interesting, mainly because there is the remains of a mosaic. The mosaic is obviously not ancient but it must have been an important building to someone if you bother to put a mosaic in. From then on the route is pleasant, through fields, and a walk through someones garden (which is public foot path, but still a surprise).
Reaching Berkswell is where this route falls apart a bit, your better off just sticking to the road. The foot path is a bit of a faff, and once you get on it, you can't get off until the end because of all the HS2 work.
From there its a walk through progressively more build up areas until Spon Street in Coventry, which is well worth a look if you like Medieval/Tudor buildings
Overall, with some minor tweaking, this would be an excellent route, there are just a couple of loose ends.
The photos aren't that informative, but just what i decided to take on the trip.
