Surveys
We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.
Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.
Help people know more about this route by volunteering to submit a survey.

03 Sep 2023A nice walk, mostly along quiet country lanes and some unsurfaced tracks with a few good ascents. On the higher sections there are often views across the Mid Devon countryside and further e.g. the Sidmouth gap. It is mostly the same as Silcul one but has a few differences in route at the start and end. At the Culompton end, it is a more direct route with fewer ascent but you miss some extra views over the town and of Hillersdon House. It also takes you through more of the historic parts of Silverton than the alternative.

09 May 2023Nice route! Walked from Silverton to Cullompton as part of a circle starting and finsihing in Ottery St Mary. Some tracks and footpaths but largely lanes, which were very lightly used the day I walked. Very long hill up is rewarded by a rather wonderful view of East Devon.

24 Jun 2021A lovely countryside walk. There is substantial road walking at the Cullompton end. With pavement in town - reasonably quiet roads with no pavement and footpaths for the rest of the route. Some steep climbs on paths. Great views.
