03 Jul 2023I only walked the section from Branscombe to Seaton, but it was wonderful - and at least I avoided half of the steep climbs! Branscombe beach and Beer both have lovely cafes to stop and recharge. An excellent route - but a long and tiring day if you are thinking of doing the whole 10 miles.

17 Dec 2022Stunning walk along the Jurassic Coast, but it is hard work! There are many steep climbs and descents, most of them are stepped, which helps, but you will get a good work out on this route.
I walked from Sidmouth, and just followed the South West Coast Path all the way. It is very clearly signed, but does not follow the SWCP on the map, as in numerous places it has been diverted due to erosion. Technically that makes this route inaccurately plotted, but on the ground you can't go wrong, so I haven't plotted another one.
Most of the time the route is along the cliff tops, but it does go down to sea level now and then (exhausting) so you can go for a paddle if you want. There are some woodland sections, and a really nice (but tough) undercliff section. The route also passes through the villages of Branscombe and Beer so there is variety on this walk.
I really enjoyed this walk. The landscape is phenomenal, and the views outstanding - but blimey you have to work hard for them!.

07 May 2021This is a fabulously scenic route that follows the South West Costal Path along the cliff tops of The Jurassic Coast. It is quite challenging with several steep valleys to be crossed en-route. Refreshments and toilets are available at Branscombe beach cafe. At Seaton Hole you need to take a small diversion inland to avoid Old Beer Road which is shut following cliff fall.
