Description
This uses a lot of SetMal 2 - but avoids the road out of Malham and instead uses the Dales Highway via Attermire Scar.
Its straight up the steep hill out of Settle and ends up at Attermire Scar and caves. Which are a good side quest to explore.
It then joins up with Stockdale Lane and past Stockdale Farm - it then rises again up along a rocky track to Kirkby Fell and a view of Malham Tarn and then steeply down into Malham.
There were cows and bulls en route but all were very relaxed and didn't care.
I really enjoyed this route and would do it again.
Note : I found the road on SetMal2 to be very busy and it narrowed in places and vans didn't seem to worried about high speed close passes. Therefore this route avoids that road. I preferred being in the moorland more near Attermire
