Description
This route uses the well waymarked Test Way to get most of the way from Romsey to Kings Somborne, reducing road walking to a minimal use of minor roads. There are occasional liaisons with the River Test itself, and the route also passes by Mottisfont Abbey along the way. The John O Gaunt pub in Horsebridge is well worth a stop, and then there is The Crown at the end in King Somborne itself. The footpath can be wet and hard going through Squabb Wood a mile or two out from Romsey, but the section along the line of the old railway from Lower Brook to Horsebridge is particularly easy going, and good for bikes too

Surveys
We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.
Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.
