Walked it many times, a very pleasant easy stroll.

Having walked both versions of RisGre I'd recommend RisGre Two - stay on the canal as far as possible into Rishton, avoids the noisy road.

Starting from Rishton there is a short walk along the road and over the canal to the towpath, accessed via a cycle barrier and slope. The towpath is pleasant with open views across to Pendle Hill. Exit from the towpath at the next bridge is either via shallow steps and a kissing gate, or else a short bit further along, through a cycle barrier and up a slope. The main part of the route is along a pleasant semi-rural former railway line where there are usually quite a few walkers and dog-walkers. There are benches and picnic tables along here. The walk to the town square in Great Harwood is via residential streets and a car park.
The whole route is reasonably pleasant and generally well surfaced with paving, degraded tarmac or compacted gravel. In places it was slightly muddy from autumn leaves breaking down at the time I walked it.
