Description
This route goes via Kew Bridge. It's designed to be walkable 24 hours a day, with reasonable street lighting throughout, and no parks with closing hours, so useful in Winter when it gets dark early.
Because of this, the route skirts round Gunnersbury Park rather than going through - but it does pass by gates into/out of the park, and during daytime it would make sense to walk through if that appeals.
The route also passes directly past Brentford Football Ground, on match days it will be busy.
Accessibility: no flights of steps and drop-kerbs throughout.

Surveys
We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.
Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.

20 Feb 2023This is an easy to follow and pretty direct route. On the way you pass through some lovely residential Kew streets, through picturesque Kew Green and pass over the river before winding your way past Gunnersbury Park to bustling Ealing Broadway. Here you can find plenty of places for food or drink - or transport to go further on.
Accessibility - The route has some beautiful leafy streets, which occasionally makes the path narrower or a bit bumpy where the tree roots have spread. Though there are dropped kerbs throughout, these are occasionally in an unusual spot at the junctions. There are also one or two driveways with kerbs.

30 Sep 2021This route via Kew Bridge is considerably more direct/shorter than option Two which goes via Isleworth and Brentford. The down side is there is more pavement walking, but if you want a quicker, more direct route, and one that can be walked 24/7, after dark, then this is the one.
From Richmond through residential streets to Kew, then across Kew Bridge and by Brentford Football ground.
Good refreshments at Kew and Kew Bridge - I stopped briefly at the Express Tavern, which has a well-deserved reputation for ciders and beers, and does food.
The route skirts around the outside of Gunnersbury Park, this is so it can claim to be a 24 hours route, but as the gates were open I walked round on the inside path for a bit of extra greenery.
After Gunnersbury Park the route goes directly north along residential roads to Ealing Broadway station.
Accessibility - no steps, lit throughout, as good as it gets for London streets i.e. sometimes there are trees or cars on pavements, and people put the rubbish bins out on bin day etc.

19 Sep 2021A good direct route, which is very easy to navigate. Almost entirely along roads, so not the most scenic walk, but accessible for all and does manage to avoid main roads for the most part.
