Surveys
We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.
Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.
Help people know more about this route by volunteering to submit a survey.

15 Sep 2024This trip from Rayleigh to Southend was great very lovely weather and some great views particularly coming into southend as we headed into Rayleigh from there and Hadleigh where we walked through a lovely nature reserve before getting to leigh on sea.

15 Sep 2024Really enjoyed this walk from Rayleigh out to leigh on sea. We passed through some lovely farm paths out of town and forests as well. No issues crossing some of the busiest parts of the main road i=either as there wasnt too much traffic. Great views out of town to leigh on sea and it was lovely to get to the beach.

15 Sep 2024The route passes quiet woodlands, horse yards and pretty residential areas until it reaches the coast line. The views from Leigh on Sea looking out to the sea are beautiful. A real treat at the end of this route.
Highly recommend this section of pathways. The urban walking was still enjoyable passing pleasant houses and even a windmill!.
