Surveys
We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.
Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.
Help people know more about this route by volunteering to submit a survey.

30 Jun 2022I have mixed reviews for this run/walk. You start in maesteg Town and the first mile is up hill until you get to the school, from the school the routes takes you through a narrow lane which is overgrown and takes you to a nettle/stingy overgrown Marsh (do not bother, unwalkable and you can go round) which will be via road through a housing estate.
Once you go round, the route into Pyle is stunning, through countryside woodlands with beautiful views (highly recommend this part of the route).
The last couple of miles into Pyle will be through a housing estate and a fairly busy road.
I recommend this route to be ran/walked in the day, night might be a little dangerous. A few shops at the beginning and end but no visible toilet stops.
