Description

A reasonably direct route avoiding busy roads as far as is possible in this part of London. Excellent refreshments at Wandsworth Town.
It's a slightly modified version of Putcla Two, but with less on the A3029 Putney Bridge Road; it omits the unpleasant and noisy section under the railway lines which I thought was the only weak point of that route, and one easily changed. I think this one now gives the best option for Putney - Clapham Junction

Surveys

We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.

Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.

Help people know more about this route by volunteering to submit a survey.

I walked this at about 8pm, after dark.

It is a pretty direct route from A to B using quiet residential streets. Fairly well lit all the way. It felt safe and accessible.

If I was in a hurry I'd use this route, but I preferred PUTCLA One along the Thames Path.

I set out to walk and review Putcla Two, it was going really well and set for 5 stars, but the section of the A3209 under the railway lines was so unpleasant I decided to find an alternative route which restores the 5 star status, and review that instead - so here it is, and thanks to the maker of Putcla Two for making most of this one too.
I found this route satisfyingly direct, surprisingly quiet (with a couple of short exceptions, not bad for this part of London), and the excellent refreshments at Wandsworth Town were very welcome.
Top marks from me.
