Surveys
We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.
Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.
Help people know more about this route by volunteering to submit a survey.

22 Apr 2022The route starts at Preston with an inaccessible fenced off section at the end of the car park. See attached photo from Google Street View. It is necessary to go around the car park and into Avenham Park via East Cliff Road, as per PreLey Two.

07 Oct 2021Overall, not a particularly glamorous route, although it starts with a 3km trek through Avenham Park, across the River Ribble bridge and southwards via great tracks in quiet green surroundings. The remainder includes some busy roads through Lostock Hall and Leyland and the off-road sections run directly alongside the West Coast Main Line railway. One such section was overgrown and not pleasant to navigate. Note that the exit from Preston station should be via East Cliff Road to avoid an inaccessible gate.
