Surveys

We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.

Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.

Help people know more about this route by volunteering to submit a survey.

Good route. Easy to follow, no issues, great views.

This is a six star walk across some stunning Exmoor scenery. Starting from Wheddon Cross you have the lovely Drapers Way (with beautiful snowdrops in late February) rising up to windswept Dunkery and then over to the gorgeous woods of the Horner Valley. Some steady climbing but well pathed and the views!.

A terrific Exmoor walk with wide views and beautiful woodlands, taking in some of the most iconic places in the area - Dunkery Beacon, Webber’s Post, Horner Hill and the Horner Valley. You can even get a cream tea along the way in the summer season. Thoroughly recommended.

Expect steep hill climbs and descents. Access is all through gates.
