Description
This route is not intended to be a replacement to the popular Porbri two, but rather an addition to it. It is a similar length but an almost completely different walk and it adds a Slow Way which enters Bristol over the iconic Clifton Suspension Bridge.
The route mainly uses paths through fields, woods and along tracks through farmed countryside, with a walk through wildflower-rich Ashton Court Park approaching town. I have routed the Slow Way around the edge of the park because parts of it are cordoned off in spring and summer to protect the breeding skylarks. At other times of year you can make your way across it directly.
This Slow Way briefly shares a route with Porbri two at Sheepway, allowing two choices of route in and out of Portishead. This one goes via the marina and a new section of the England Coast Path

Surveys
We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.
Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.
