10 Mar 2022This route goes from Pontefract to South Elmsall using footpaths and bridleways to keep off road as much as possible. However, there is some semi-urban road walking included. The route has numerous obstacles, so is suitable for reasonably fit walkers but not for wheelers. It is a pleasant but unexciting route.
We surveyed the route in May 2021 and included detailed pictures. The last stage of the walk from North Elmsall to South Elmsall has recently been made much easier as derelict stiles have been replaced. The pictures below replace numbers 12, 15, 16 and 17 in the original survey.
