Surveys
We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.
Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.
Help people know more about this route by volunteering to submit a survey.

12 Jun 2023Impassable for much of the way with hostile signage and broken waymarkers and stiles.
It's a pity because where it is passable it's pretty.
From the Pontardawe end the first impassable section is where the farm has hostile signage and no clear route to the right of way at the intersection between the unmade path and the lane at Primrose lane. It can be bypassed by going down the main Neath road with has a pavement.
Much of the section after Farmers Lane is also highly overgrown and with broken gates and hostile signage around what appeared to be.
It's better used again around the Stanley wood area.
As a point to point practical route you'd be better off trotting along the main Neath road for the most part. The footways were an adventure but not a practical walking route in their current condition.
