August 2022. Direction: Pontypridd to Abercynon.

A lovely walk following the River Taff. It`s easy to walk, easy to navigate, as it`s a national cycle route (Taff Trail, route 8) and suitable for wheels of all descriptions. It also runs parallel to the main A470 road, which you can hear in the background most of the way, otherwise, it would have been a 5-star walk. As pointed out in another review, there is no direct link from the Taff Trail to Abercynon station, as shown on the map, so a little loop is needed via River Court.

A really nice route that follows the Taff trail. I ran this route in reverse so ended in Ponty with plenty of shops to purchase some much needed refreshments. The route is well marked, just follow the blue taff tail markers, and is flat. The path is a major walkway and well maintained to suitably for all abilities and also bikes. The route ended at the train station but just before you arrive you pass through a large park that has lots to offer from children's play areas to the famous Lido. A really nice route.

Beautiful route. Very easy to navigate, when you exit the train station at Abercynon, cross over the river and join the Taff trail, follow the blue Taff trail signs all the way into Pontypridd. The route is very accessible and felt safe. Along the way you follow the river and have beautiful views of wildlife along the way. As you arrive into Pontypridd there is a picturesque park with toilets, a childrens play area, a cafe and a Lido. You then cross over the bridge and finish at Pontypridd train station. Highly recommended.

Easy walk straight down the Taff trail, paved all the way and very accessible. Follows the river so is susceptible to flooding. I created this route and for some reason, I've implied that you can drop down from the bridge outside Abercynon station, which you can't. You have to loop round and go under. All well signposted though, just follow the blue Taff trail signs.
