07 Apr 2024Impromptu walk from Hailsham to Polegate after the bus I wanted to catch didn't show up and I figured it would be quicker to walk!
All along a well marked and well maintained cycle route. Easy 5* slow way.

19 Jan 2023The Cuckoo Trail is a well path, direct route between Polegate and Hailsham. The trail is flat and well sign posted, suitable for both walkers and cyclists. This route is also wheelchair friendly.
From Hailsham the path continues all the way to Horam following the route of a historic trainline. Some of the old platforms still exist along the route.
There's many other public footpaths which connect onto this route meaning it is very accessible from multiple points along the trail.

17 Jul 2021This path follows the Cuckoo Trail, an old railway line which has been transformed into an all-weather, hard-surfaced path. It is flat and well used by walkers, runners, cyclists and wheelchair users. Some parts are also designated as a bridleway and used as such.
Starts or finishes at the bustling town centre of Hailsham by the handsome perp church of St. Mary.
Overall, a perfectly accessible Slow Way, but loses a star for me for lack of interest along the way.
