Description
This route follows a section of the Capital Ring and Greenway and is therefore well signposted, mainly off road and a pleasant walk. I have started it from the same location as PLANOR one however you could also start from Plainor DLR station and walk south slightly. The route follows a sewer for the first mile or so which a path and park area has been built over the top of. It then travels south through Beckton District Park before coming out at the Royal Albert Dock with a great view of City Airport. There is a diversion on the route for much of 2022 at the Sir Steve Redgrave Bridge which means a short section along a road (with pavement) before you can get back on the Thames path through to the finish

Surveys
We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.
Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.

08 Feb 2023Not much to add from previous reviewers. Good route, well-signed and through the campus for some facilities. I walked starting at North Woolwich and almost did a detour soon after starting, assuming I could not go through the gate in the photo - however it is open to those using the capital ring path and opens for you when you press the button, it just looks uninviting.

07 Feb 2023Slightly indirect but worth it because a lot is off road, following the Capital Ring, which is well signposted.
Walked Woolwich to Plaistow. Started in thick fog which had closed the Woolwich ferry and probably the airport too. Very other-worldly.
The Students Union at the university provided loos, and there are also cafes in the campus area.
Some steps, but overall good underfoot.

01 Feb 2023This is a good route, on a clearly waymarked route - The Capital Ring. It is enjoyable to walk on good paths beginning at the River Thames River Path and proceeding via local paths and road. It is very open in places so it can be quite windswept. Part of the Thames River Path is closed during hours of darkness, but it is easy to divert round if needed.
There are a number of sets of steps on the route most of which, but not all, have a simple work around if needed.
Refreshments can be got at University of East London's Docklands Campus, which the route passes through and also at both ends.

02 Sep 2022Route follows a section of the Capital Ring and is therefore very well signposted and mainly through parks away from roads.
