12 Sep 2021I would give 4 stars but the path near Ewyas Harold Common is blocked (reported). I will submit a slightly amended route. Mill Wood (nr Bacton) section path has been heavily impacted by logging trucks making it difficult to walk on. However the route is good with great views of Black Mountains and Garway Hill in particular. You may meet some wild ponies on Ewyas Harold common. Dore Abbey and St Margarets Church are interesting for a stop. There are some great vistas across Herefordshire. There are a lot of stiles and some very narrow and steep sections through the woods. The paths are mostly across grassy fields. There is also a path through an orchard so would would be good to walk in May when the blossom is out.
