Surveys

We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.

Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.

Help people know more about this route by volunteering to submit a survey.

I really enjoyed this route. Its about 50/50 tarmac to trail, with lots of shade in the summer. Think some of it could get pretty muddy if it rained lots. No major hills.
I missed a footpath through a field just after I crossed the A3 for the first time so ended up following the Shipwrights Way next to Ashford stream for a little bit, but it was beautiful so I did not mind.
I also missed a very hidden footpath onto Petersfield Golf Club (see photo 1). Following the A3 till Tankerdale Lane would work best for those on wheels, or who can't do stiles.
There is a short section on road without a pavement on Forest Road in Liss. Watch out for fast drivers as it is national speed limit here.
When I got to Greatham, instead of turning left along Longmoor Road I turned right and then went through the woods, rather than follow the road (photo 2). Takes you out at the same point, but a pretty route.
I ran this rather than walked and it took about 2 hours. I also did it quite early on a bank holiday so didn't see many other people.
The bridge over the railway is quite steep, but does have a rail/track for bikes.
You can get food/drink in Petersfield, Liss and Bordon.
Petersfield and Liss both have stations.
