Description

I have walked this route from Perranporth to Truro. There are stiles and some other obstacles so it is not suitable for wheelchairs. No steep gradients but some boggy sections and the footpath may be unclear at two points where the route crosses open fields. Take Care where the path crosses a disused spoil tip as there are water-filled hazards within the undergrowth. There is a seasonal cafe with toilets at Callestick and another near Roseworthy. There is a short section on a busy road near Allet. The crossing of the A30 requires care. There is a Pub at Bolingey and another a few metres from the path at Perranzabuloe

Surveys

We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.

Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.

Help people know more about this route by volunteering to submit a survey.

Unfortunately this is not a route that I would recommend to walk. It started well with a nice track out of Truro and a path following the stream which was lovely.

We then walked for quite a while along quiet country roads with no pavements which was ok as there was little traffic but not ideal. The route took us through fields and very overgrown public footpaths which were hard to get through and required some beating down of brambles and nettles with a stick.

It had a short stint on a B road with no pavement which wasn't comfortable to walk on.

Finally we had to halt the walk and turn around because the route was completely closed off due to the A30 being built.

A disappointing route which I would not advise for others.

This is a bit of a Slow Ways fail! We attempted to walk this from Truro. There was a lot of walking on country lanes, a very overgrown footpath that we had to beat through, a busy B road to walk along and then on top of that the A30 roadworks meant there was no way through.
