Surveys
We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.
Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.

02 May 2021 (edited 27 Jun 2023)This was a generally pleasant route, completed in the direction Orcop Hill to Ross, through some picturesque countryside and benefitting from a couple of pubs along the way and at each end. The only downside to the route was the section passing Cot Barn to Hentland House. There was no signage and after walking down the side of a field the path seemed to follow a ditch between two fields which was overgrown and blocked by fallen trees. On emerging at Hentland House there was no signage or obvious start point for the path. Without my GPS device I would have struggled on this section. There is no obvious alternative without mainly using roads. The route is already over 50% on roads, albeit country lanes, and there are pavements where busier roads are encountered. The route has a number of stiles, kissing gates and steps so would not be accessible to all. I wouldn't walk this route again without an amendment to the section above. The route was however well drawn.
