06 Feb 2022I walked from near Old Oak Common to Westbourne Park. An odd one to review as you cannot access Old Oak Common node, yet, and I started by the canal (having just walked Oldkil). It is a good route, however, and you can join it along the canal to or from various places (Wemkil uses to same path for example) and it passes close by to other stations. I enjoyed the walk just doing a 180 and walking back along the canal to Westbourne Park, it is very pleasant, with benches to sit and watch the water birds. Good path means wheel chairs can use it, but short steep bridges of 28%! Single staircase can be easily walked around.

05 Dec 2021Super straightforward Slow Ways route along the paved Grand Union Canal towpath. Encountered some people out running, walking, and cycling on a rainy Sunday morning, which was really lovely!
Just two things to note:
- as the other reviewer mentioned, you can’t actually access the Old Oak Common node. I was continuing on from Westbourne Park to Wembley, so I just stayed on the Grand Union Canal and didn’t bother trying to get off it.
- getting from the Westbourne Park station onto the canal can be done by walking through a park or down a pretty rickety spiral staircase from the bridge over the canal. I’d stick to that park!.
