30 Apr 2021This is a scenic route through Ashdown Forest, an area criss-crossed with dozens of paths big and small. As such I found sticking to the route tricky. I would definitely recommend using a GPS tracker to make sure you know where you are. The final section into Crowborough is across a popular golf course. There are lots of way markers, by I still seemed to drift off the route.
The route passes close to Airmen's Grave, a monument to the crew of a crashed Wellington Bomber from 1941. Worth a brief detour.
The drawing of this route is very accurate, sticking to the path on the map perfectly.
