Surveys
We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.
Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.
Help people know more about this route by volunteering to submit a survey.

12 Jun 2022I started this route from Hartwell. I was generally pleased with it, until getting to the university campus where, rather than following the footpath, you follow the road, supposedly to join the Nene footpath. The bridge you are lead to, however, has no access to the path and the prospect of clambering down the bank is somewhat hampered by the presence of traffic barriers at the road side. This version of the route makes no sense when a version via the campus footpath actually links up with the riverside walk.

04 May 2021Straightforward route, took us through parts of Northampton I hadn't walked before, and across open fields to Hartwell. A few stiles, so not accessible for wheelchairs, but otherwise an easy walk. Some limited walking on roads, but not too much.
The only significant view (apart from numerous yellowhammers) was the Northampton wind farm up close.
Would have attached photos but the size limit is too small even for photos taken on my fairly basic phone - I suggest a 10MB limit rather than 5MB.
