Surveys
We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.
Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.
Help people know more about this route by volunteering to submit a survey.

28 Feb 2023I really enjoyed this one, walking from Northiam to Rye. I'd do it again for sure. It's an interesting walk with plenty of characterful buildings, nice views, and lovely animals (including two ostriches in Peasmarsh). A few things to add: 1) the fingerpost is missing on Rectory Lane to point you over the stile. 2) there's no signage in a field shortly after that but you can just about see your route about 400m away diagonally across the field. 3) At Beckley rec ground just walk straight across to the gate in the distance, you can ignore the gpx route if you want to avoid a morass in winter. 4) The Horse and Cart pub in Peasmarsh has recently closed so use the Cock Inn or Jempsons cafe if you need food urgently, or just wait til Rye as there's loads more to choose from.
