20 Jun 2026This would be a great route if not for: a route across the top of the Moors which doesn’t exist and takes too much effort for the return; a number of sections which are blocked or don’t exist either at the point of entry or exit; and a road crossing which is almost impossible to reach and is then a very busy dual carriageway with cars travelling at 60mph plus. The entrance to the footpath off the dual carriageway is blocked because the farmer can’t cut the hedge until July. I defaulted to a number of minor roads and a cycling route. Walked as part of the National Parks Challenge 2026.
