Description
Cross the canal on Parkway Bridge, then turn right on the footpath down to the towpath. Turn left along the canal, and follow it under the road bridge. Keep right to stay alongside the canal, and follow it past one set of locks. Take the wooden footbridge across the canal, then continue along the right side of the canal until the path ends at a road bridge. Cross the road and the bridge, and continue along the left of the canal. After the next lock, cross the bridge ahead, then turn left along the footpath. After 300 m, turn right, and continue until you reach a car park. Continue through the car park to Thatcham Lake, then turn left and follow the path around the lake. Go past the café/museum, and then after another 100 m turn left over the bridge and keep right. Cross the first field and go through the orchard, then turn right to follow the boundary of the next large field. At the end turn left to keep following the perimeter, then on the main road, turn right, cross the road, and follow the lawn and Meadow Close along to the church. Finally turn left along the Broadway into Thatcham

Surveys
We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.
Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.
Help people know more about this route by volunteering to submit a survey.
