Surveys
We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.
Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.
Help people know more about this route by volunteering to submit a survey.

11 Mar 2022Difficult to follow the route, as the signage is not clear in many places. One of the places where it was clear was on walking down Blaendare Road on the outskirts of Pontypool, where the signed footpath is totally blocked (after the college and short row of houses, but before the school grounds start). The easiest alternative is to continue down Blaendare Road to the roundabout just past the school and turn left onto cycle track 492 all the way into Pontypool. Despite this, there are several alternative routes, either over the mountain or along the mountain side through the Forestry Commission land to reach Pontypool. The views are spectacular on a clear day, so for the right route, this could be a 5-star walk.
