Description

An alternative which addresses some of the issues at the Padstow end by reviewers of NewPad(one). Also a nice walk. It does have some long stretches of road walking, but at the time I walked it (early December) they were very quiet. There are good pubs and cafes along the route at Trevone, Harlyn, St Merryn and Mawgan Porth. There are toilets and Trevone, Harlyn and Mawgan Porth. An enjoyable walk

Surveys

We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.

Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.

Help people know more about this route by volunteering to submit a survey.

07 Dec 2025 Autumn

I walked this route in early December from Padstow to Newquay. Despite the wet and windy conditions I found it to be very enjoyable, There are stiles to negotiate and there was a lot of standing water on some of the lanes and fields. Even some of the roads were underwater. However as it avoids more of the coast path in these conditions (particularly the wind) I found it to be more comfortable. I would walk it again.
