Description
This route was designed to be pretty direct but avoid long stretches along busy roads
It could be more direct by following roads Newmarket-Snailwell (-1 1/4km) and/or Worlington-Mildenhall (-2/3 km). Both seem to have paved paths or wide verges but are 60mph and look busy. I reckon this small diversion is worth it. There is one other train station that could be linked in, but it it very badly served by footpaths and those trains also stop at Newmarket, so it isn't worth the extra distance or road walking.
There was one place where I am not sure about the route. From the Walnut Tree pub in Worlington is is possible or legitimate to go directly north along the very small road then join the Lark River trail. OS looks like there are gates, but Strava maps suggest it is well used and there are no "Private Road" signs. Alternatives are: turn right then along roads into Mildenhall (slightly shorter). Or turn left towards village, turn right, pass church, then either Lark River trail or past Wamil Hall (slightly longer)

Surveys
We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.
Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.
