Surveys
We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.
Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.
Help people know more about this route by volunteering to submit a survey.

18 Jun 2021A lovely walk. From Newport Quay to Island Harbour it was level and, I would think, wheelchair accessible. After this the footpath was rough in places, there were three stiles and in wet weather it can get very wet and muddy.
To avoid the allotments (re previous review): from the Quay in Newport it is possible to follow the dockside road until the junction with the footpath near the Premier Inn.

04 Jun 2021Most of the route is great and really easy to follow. There are lots of lovely views and birds to see.
However the route is shown going through the allotments which isn’t possible. When you reach the allotments you can turn left down Kingston Road and then into the playing field after the cemetery.

22 Mar 2022It is a lovely walk. But it’s the allotments in East Cowes that you can’t go through.
