29 Jan 2024The route goes along a main road from Longbenton which was a busy road with some poor quality pavement and substandard crossings.
Walking through Jesmond Dene and the Ouseburn was lovely, apart from some very muddy and steep paths. It was nice to walk around City Stadium park and Star and Shadow cinema.
The walk along the Quayside was good, and I was there during the Sunday market.
There were a lot of steps from the quayside to Newcastle Station.

06 Jan 2024I walked this route in early January. It was a dry day but there had been rain over the past few days. This is an acceptable route taking in part of the Quayside and Ouseburn and Jemond Dene. If I has one criticism it would be that it could be so much better. I hope to create a new route soon. It was pleasant enough though agree with the pevious review bout unecessary steps beside the High Level Bridge. A short stretch along the riverbank then head up towards the end of Jesmond Dene and the banks of the Ouse Burn. Lovely woodland walk only marred by a muddy stretch. I was expecting this so wore appropriate footwear. After leaving Jesmond Dene it was just walking through urban streets. Look out for Newlon two coming soon!.

06 Mar 2023After leaving Newcastle Central Station and heading towards the High Level Bridge, you descend to the Quayside down many steps, which are quite steep and could be slippery when wet. As the route continues through Jesmond Dene, it was very muddy on the day I covered it, to the point where I was concerned about losing my footing on the soft mud at times. My shoes got extremely dirty, even though it hadn't rained all that much in the previous few days. After emerging from Jesmond Dene, the route takes you along several unremarkable suburban streets.
Not my favourite walking or running route. I certainly wouldn't do it again or particularly recommend it.
