Surveys
We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.
Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.
Help people know more about this route by volunteering to submit a survey.

04 Jan 2023Good route and accurately plotted, lovely section along the Trent. A lot of road at the Hykeham end. An alternative more on path route through Swinderby, Morton & Tunman Woods might be possible. Depending on if Tunman Woods is allowed by Slowways?
I used the 47 bus to travel from Hykeham to Newark.

15 Jul 2024Thanks for that suggestion, which inspired me to investigate further, as having looked at this route it seemed unnecessarily long and road heavy. Having now test walked some of the Tunman Wood permissive paths, I think they are fine - they are clearly waymarked and well trodden, and it is a little surprising that OpenStreetMap has not caught up with them. I have now created a NewaNor two route, which uses the path round the south side of the wood.
