Description

My suggested route avoids any dangerous road crossings and is free from cows. It uses the existing 'Greenway' , a designated safe walking and cycling route linking the two town centres. It is well signposted, tarmac along the whole route, has no steps and all busy roads have pedestrian crossings over them. It is traffic free for a large part of the route. The path follows the line of the A530, but is separated from the road by a hedge (see photo). The path is wide enough to allow pedestrians and cyclists to use it safely. The route takes you closer to Crewe town centre and bus station, if that is your ultimate destination, although I have mapped the route to Crewe railway station as it is the Slow Ways starting point

Surveys

We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.

Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.

Help people know more about this route by volunteering to submit a survey.

  1. Complete the survey training.
