Description
This is a reworking of Naifor one, which now has an access problem in one place. I've used core paths and promoted paths, and also taken the opportunity to go via Brodie for refreshments, and a bus stop.
Much of the route is on asphalt, mostly quiet backroads, pleasantly rural, with forestry and heather interspersed with farms and occasional houses. On the way out of Nairn it passes through the site of Kingsteps Quarry, which has been restored and is now a pleasant area to walk through. At Dyke there is a short length of off road footpath which may be wet/muddy.
Brodie has a castle with cafe (check opening days/times), and also a large roadside restaurant, the Brodie Countryfare, located on the A96. There is a bus stop with a good service to Nairn and Inverness one way, and Forres, Elgin and Aberdeen the other way

Surveys
We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.
Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.
Help people know more about this route by volunteering to submit a survey.
