Surveys
We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.
Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.
Help people know more about this route by volunteering to submit a survey.

23 Nov 2022 (edited 10 Apr 2024)A pleasant walk through the recreation ground and cemetery to Lower Morden. There's a good cafe and toilets in the Blue Diamond Garden Centre. The path out of the park is to the south of a stream. There's no bridge from the north side. The path starts from the road to the cricket club off Lower Morden Lane. The rest is easy across the pedestrian lights to Holne Chase and then to St. Helier Station. Shops and bus stop opposite.

27 Mar 2022 (edited 15 Nov 2022)An enjoyable walk that will take you through quiet corridors and footpaths and also green spaces between the two destinations. If the cemetery is open, it is a lovely part of the route, but beware that it is shared between pedestrians and drivers. One of my favourite parts was the path through Morden Park. If there are issues accessing the trail, it looked like there were some alternatives on wider paths through the centre of the park if needed (untested).

11 May 2021A surprisingly pleasant walk, using green spaces and quiet roads for much of the way. There appears to be bridleway and footpath around the edge of the North East Surrey Crematorium Cemetery should you be walking outside opening hours (not tested). Coming from St Helier towards Motspur Park the way through from Arthur Road to Marina Avenue is between house numbers 18 and 20, and comes out on Marina Avenue between 19 and 21. It is a pedestrian alleyway between the houses (with a slight kink as on OS maps so you cannot see from end to end). As mentioned in a previous review, you can walk via the playing field. I did not try the playing field route.

29 Apr 2021A good walk through parks & a huge cemetery. Two problems:
1. At Motspur Park end, there is no public way from Marina Avenue to Arthur Road. I suggest to continue on Marina Avenue to the playing field at the end, then half-left to the gateway out of the park to pick up the path from Arthur Road.
2. The cemetery is open 0800-1800 Mon-Fri, 1000-1600 Sat/Sun. The gates are locked outside these hours so an alternative route is necessary at these times.

13 Feb 2024When cemetery is closed continue down the path to Green Lane (equestrian centre) and exit onto Garth Road.
