23 Feb 2022This is a great little route which I walked from Monument to Canary Wharf. Apart from the short stretch along Eastcheap there is no walking along busy roads and much of the route follows waterways. It is all well paved and all steps can be avoided. There are plenty of places where you can find food except for the stretch between St Katherine's Dock and Limehouse. Narrow Street has the esteemed and historic pub 'The Grapes' (and also a Gordon Ramsay restaurant) Much of the route seemed to be popular with joggers when I walked it.
At the very end of the route you could avoid South Colonnade which is a bit gloomy and go south to follow the edge of the dock basin which leads directly to the Jubilee line station (If you are a Fritz Lang fan it is worth going down into the station to enjoy the Metropolis-like interior.)
Oh, and you get to see the Tower of London.

24 Sep 2021Great route. Really stunning to follow the river wherever we did. We had to divert around the Tower of London because the path under the bridge was closed (perhaps due to COVID?). A great walk that included lovely riverside paths and vibrant central London adventuring!.

23 Sep 2021This is a good solid Slow Way. Parts could maybe make more of the Thames Path, but it's otherwise a great way to get between Monument and Canary Wharf.
