Description

Following work on the King Charles III path between Watchet and Blue Anchor the coastal section of Minwat one has been altered and re-opened. It is an excellent walk and well signed. It is shorter than the Minwat two alternative which goes inland

Surveys

We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.

Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.

Help people know more about this route by volunteering to submit a survey.

A nicely wooded stroll along the rerouted coast path. You do miss Old Cleeve church, but you do get to East Quay quicker.

I have walked most of this route before (see review on Minwat 2) but have now checked out the short, newly rerouted section of the England Coast Path between Blue Anchor and Watchet. This bypasses the subsiding cliff near Blue Anchor which had made the Minwat 2 inland diversion necessary for some years and we take the more direct coastal route once again. Yay!

This new version of the Slow Way is definitely the best way to get between Minehead and Watchet and I would happily walk it again.

I walked this route in late June from Minehead to Watchet and was able to complete it following the signs for the King Charles III or English Coast path. At the this time these rights of way are not shown on maps. It is an excellent route and follows the coastline for most of the way. It stays above the cliffs between Watchet and blue Anchor, Just a bit further inland!.

Good to hear. I was just thinking thinking about what might be going on with this route this route the other day. I'll get down and walk the new bit as soon as I can

And I seem to be repeating myself. Not quite sure how that happened!
