Surveys
We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.
Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.
Help people know more about this route by volunteering to submit a survey.

04 Aug 2021Midhurst to Selham:
Good walking on mostly metalled by-roads, but some quite narrow; delivery vans/ agri-vehicles occupy most of the road width.
According to the landlord of the Three Moles (Selham) no weekday opening for lunch this year (photo 1) due to the hit hospitality has taken from the pandemic. Open for lunch at weekends. Nearest alternative pubs are the Halfway Bridge, a mile north of Selham, or the Badgers (recommended) beyond Duncton Common on the A285.
*********
Selham to Petworth:
Very muddy after recent rain between (say) Hurlands Farm (Selham) and the start of Duncton Common. High-sided footwear recommended. Friendly advice to leave the disused rail track whererecommended by the Slow Ways route (avoiding private land). Care needed around and after River Barn since footpath overgrown, but improves nearer to Duncton Common.
