Surveys
We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.
Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.

16 Jun 2024 (edited 22 Jun 2024)This is a very frustrating route this because the middle section along the Broadmead Brook valley is beautiful and the Burton end is fine too (unless you have an aversion to horses - a lot of them about!) but the section between Marshfield and the entrance to the valley is pretty unsatisfactory. It is OK from Marshfield as far as Culverslade, heading along the edges of croppy fields, though the path didn't look to be very well-walked. Beyond there and the Tormarton Road, though, I was mainly wading through crop and scrambling over the collapsing vegetation-covered stone walls where the GPS said the access point should be. Signage was pretty much absent. And then there is the walk along the Tormarton Road. It was tolerable on a quiet Sunday afternoon but this road can get quite fast and trafficky in the week and becomes narrow and bendy into the valley and might be unsafe at times. I wouldn't choose to walk this kilometre of road if I could avoid it.
I am going to flag this route for access because it really isn't good enough for a Slow Way and add two alternative routes which are better and each have different merits.
